Ecu scan correlation help !!
I am trying to diagnose a potential MAF issue. It was replaced on the car in past ownership at the cost of 90£ in 2011. Checked & it has a bosch logo on it.
The problem is that the air flow is much higher than expected. Almost double at idle. Since the MAF is right after the airbox, it sensing such a difference cannot be attributed to other loose hoses etc. Now, this does make sense since impurities coating the hot wire would cause it to heat up more to maintain it @ 200 degree which would in turn register a higher voltage= higher airflow.
My request is, could someone with a 1.9 jtd (4 cyl) please check their air intake, air expected & MAF voltage at idle so I can correlate and check. If its wayyy off, I would just bin it & get a new one.
edit: I remember my local indie mentioning about the airbox being loose during last years service +mot. Could have caused a lot of crap to stick on the MAF.
