Paint peeling (Not red) Alfa GT - Help!
Noticed a stone chip on the my car's wheel-arch lip (behind the tyre at the bottom) so took it to bodyshop, had it stripped & painted. Plenty of people have used him before and I know his work is top-notch. Finish was perfect, couldn't tell it had been painted.
However a few days later, it chipped, and started flaking away, primer still attached to the paint and lacquer, so the issue was with the primer and metal contact. So bodyshop stripped it back again, roughed up the metal a bit more, and tried a different primer (one suitable for Galvanized Steel). And same problem, chipped and paint peeling away from the metal.
He doesn't know why it's happening, but had something similar with a Fiat and his dad's Alfa 156 with paint peeling, but that didn't happen again, let alone twice.
Are the front wings galvanized or?
Any tips or advice I can pass on? He's called Alfa and a few more people about this, but they're stumped too.
