Airbag Light Joys

Hey Guys,

Looking for some advice:

I had a bump in my car back in December, and have finally taken re-possesion of my car tonight. The car is due its MOT (last week) and the airbag light is on. This only came on after the bump, however they are saying it is not related to the accident (suprise suprise).

So the question im asking you all is does this look right? Iv added pictures of the airbag wires in the boot. I have been told it is the curtain airbag that was at fault.

Iv looked online and they all look alot more ... secure :S ...

Any advice would be appreciated.

Have you tried disconnecting the plugs (after disconnecting the battery, as I'm sure you'll have read).

If you can get the codes read, they might help, It's a possibility that the airbag control unit might be at fault, I've heard (so might not be gospel) that these will only work once, and the airbag might not have fired.

Ok. So iv now zip tied the lines together, and duct taped the lines to the wall of the car to stop them bouncing around freely. I used spray air (coat £2 from Asda. Used for pc key boards) re connected battery. Started car. No joy. Put boot carpet etc back in place. Went to take the keys out and et voila. It's off. I now have NO faults coming up. None. This is a new thing. Don't think iv ever had nothing show up. Whoop. Cheers for the help :-)

those connections (along with the under seat ones) are the usual culprits - good work sorting it
