selespeed 156 selector bolt

Has anybody ever came across a problem with the selespeed system which turned out to be a damaged bolt? If so was it located at the selector or the gearbox? Thanks Tommy.

My understanding of your question is that you are referring to the bolt that locks the actuator onto the upper external shaft from the gearbox.

Again Smaky has an answer for you,

"The bolt is often picked up for being loose by the diagnostics, but on the 156 there was another issue which caused the same problem, the input shaft mount would snap off and allow the shaft to float at the top, this was mitaken by the system as a loose bolt and in reality it causes the same selection problem. The fix, new center ase or replacement gearbox."
