well after much hard work have got alfa up and running.
took it to the dealer here in dunedin and found the problem to be striped the teeth of the belt.
Asked them for a price to fix it and they said could cost upto $8000nzd or $5000nzd to put a recondishioned engine in.
Bugger that only paid $5000 for the car.
so brought it home and decided to have a crack myself with the help of the internet managed to remove head etc then took it to a head specalist in town to replace 8 valves and plane head.
Ordered parts from the uk head bolts gaskets belts tentionors etc as they are hard to get and really expencive here. got it all back together and running total cost $1800nzd.
took car for its warrent of fitness and it failed and needs $700 worth of work done on the front suspention
Murphys law i guess. well have spent that much now have no choice to get fixed.
only proplem left to deal with is the tail light rev counter issue had just been unplugging the lights every night.
have just aquired a rev counter out of a 99 2.0 ts selespeed and noticed that the warning light for the enginge is different its a picture of a injector on the older rev counter. Just trying to find out if it is compatable at the moment. looking forward to having all problems fixed on car and hoping for trouble free motoring for awhile.
