Have you checked the EGR valve? (possibly stuck open)
Have you checked the cam timing? Easy to check on a 10-valve, as there are timing marks on the pulleys.
If you can't get it to run for a few seconds using Easy-Start, then you've got a serious issue. Easy-start ignites just by compression, and can be used to briefly run an engine even if the electronic injection system is completely disabled (ecu disconnected, for example). Try removing the boost hose from the throttle body, and spray directly into the inlet manifold (nasty, I know, but sometimes it works).
