Winter troubleshoot 147

Hi all,

Just a few quick questions that have appeared in recent weeks that i could do with fixing. solutions greatly appricated

1. Screen washers not working (not good wiht all the salt on the road) - Found the pipe has been disconcted uner the bonnet (black curly wire) - can;t see in the dark but where should this connect to?

2. Rasp at 2.5k rev's - No idea what this is but between 2k -2.5k revs there is a 'rasp' noise coming from somewhere. Almost sounds like somewher is sucking air in and making the rasp noise. Any ideas what this is?

I thought this thread was a new addition to foxhunting and country shooting events by trigger happy country folk but aimed at the 147.
Its a cunning little beast the 147 a bit past its prime but still outsmarts the hounds and crap freelanders with imminent head gasket failure if you run them the full distance.

The washer hose is hidden most of the way from reservoir to jets, by insulation on the bonnet, and a piece of sound deadening foam stuff down by the grin t hinge.

If it's connected to the bonnet, you can pull out the foam and follow it to the reservior, which is you can see if you look to the left of the coolant reservior. Not actually taken this off before so not seen where the pumps are located.

If is not connected to the bonnet, then remove the black insulation and reconnect.

You'll probably find it's emptied the reservoir if it's disconnected at the pump.

Afraid I can't help you with the rasp noise, might be worth checking the corrugated pipe from the airbox housing and throttle housing for splits?
