Quick (ish) wiring question
Hi guys n girls
Just a quick question regarding the identification of some wiring. Little bit of back story first.
Car is a 2003 147 2.0TS Selespeed. Was getting a rather fascinating VCD warning light / Airbag warning light combo coming up on the dash. What I mean by this is that first I would get one, then the other coming on during various trips out in the car. I would NOT get them both at the same time. This seems to have settled into just the Airbag light now.
Battery voltage and charge voltage under load are fine btw. So connected up FiatECUScan to the Airbag ECU and surprise surprise I got code 09 Passenger squib error. Having done a bit of reading on here I see that this is usually just the connector being loose, i.e. the yellow one under the passenger seat. I shall have a go at disconnecting, cleaning and reconnecting it in a wee while.
Questions for those in the know;
1) FiatECUScan recommends a fairly interesting procedure regarding disconnecting the battery and waiting for a certain amount of time before interfering with the connectors....is this really required ?
2) The connector. I see the yellow one no problem but there is also a further white plug on a tail from teh same part of the loom under the seat which is not connected to anything.....what is this ?
I'll wait for a reply before I go pulling plugs as although I have seen a fair bit of computer related diagnosis I have never worked on the airbag system on an Alfa.
Cheers In advance
