9mm I think you'll find. I changed one for the first time a couple of weeks ago, a 10mm socket was very sloppy on the new one and 8mm was too small. Couldn't for the life of me find a deep 9mm socket anywhere so tried my luck with the 10mm, fully expecting to fail. However it came out quite easily.
I've since bought a 9mm deep socket but up to now have had no opportunity to check how it sits on a glow plug.
They're very easy to get at, remove the top engine cover and they're right there. Unlikely all 4 need replacing, simply measure the resistance of the glow plug to earth with a multimeter, should be a couple of ohms.
One of mine was open circuit, replaced it and no more glow plug error on the dash....after a couple of starts I might add.
All the best
Loose - not close, compact, or tight in structure or arrangement
Lose - to part with or come to be without, as through theft, accident, negligence, etc.
