Hmmm Ambient Temp re-set

My outside temperature reading is well out.

Today in the chilly north it is only reading zero when car next to me is saying -3. When I think about it I don't think I have ever seen it reading less than -1.

Question is, does ECU use this info for starting fuel/air mixand setting glow plugs. If so can the sensor be re-set to give a more accurate reading

Im pretty sure that the nubbin at the bottom of your wing mirror reads temp for display,
Left dial by fuel level is read from your thermostat and should read about 88 on normal drives and this is what your ECU reads to determin fuel mix ect,

The external temp is used by the Aircon system - the compressor will not work if this is under about 3C.

Thanks Guys

If it does not affect running/starting I will leave it as it i. Its just a bit annoying when your freezing to death and the temp reads positively tropical outside
