Getting access to wiring behind console (156)

Ladies and Gents, I'm too stupid to be able to work this out myself and thought I'd ask for advice before I rip my beloved 156 to pieces.

I want to get to the rear of the centre console to interfere with the wiring and I'm stuck with how to remove the stiff carpet that covers the sides. There are a couple of round plastic caps and I wonder if anyone can tell me what you do to remove these? Do you just pull and expect them to pop loose, or do they conceal something like a screw head?

Any advice appreciated, thanks!!

They pop-out but I think you might find a screw at the rearmost point behind the seat. At least there is on mine ....

use a long nosed pliers to grip both sides from behind & pull forwards gently
