I had a close one with Alfenia on Wednesday morning going to work.
Truck doing 45 to 50 mph on a R [ B in UK] road. Followed it thro a series of bends & then went to over take on a 200 yard straight. Dropping her to 3rd, had moved over with my left front wheel along side its right rear corner & just about to floor it, the truck suddenly BRAKED & SWUNG RIGHT
..... next thing i seen was a dog scurrying across both your path & cowering into the ditch on the RHS.
As all this was happening I was standing on the brake pedal, which was shuddering coz my rhs wheel was on the grass margin & I was also yanking the handbrake....
Thankfully we all escape un-marked
BTW: Pulling the h/b is an auto reaction I have developed over my 20 years of driving as an additional method of slowing down in an emergency.
