156 MAF problem

My 156 has a problem with the MAF sensor. I have a flat spot at 5000 rpm. I have tried the car with the MAF unplugged and the flat spot goes away so I purchased a second hand MAF sensor and connected that up and it fixes the flat spot but it wont idle when cold. Does this mean its also a faulty MAF?

I currently have MAF problems too and have also disconnected the MAF sensor and i too have noticed the car doesnt idle properly when cold. With the MAF disconnected ofcourse. I recently took my car to an alfa garage and they changed the spark plugs for me and will change the sparkplugs wires too as they also needed changing. My car currently has 102000+ on the clock. Ill let you know once ive changed the MAF sensor and the cables in a few days ifmi have any idling problems as such. I also have no other option but to buy a second hand MAF sensor so ill see. All the best of luck!
