I have had my 2004 Alfa 156 Lusso Manual
at the dealer (Alfa) (Prior to another Mechanic which then sent it to the dealer after the car was not starting, I thought I had ran out of petrol anyhow it turned out to be the RPM Sensor and a Fuel Pump Relay (Not to mention that when this happened I cranked so much I burnt out the starter - Replaced) Anyhow now I got the car back starting all fine except the dealer says to bring it back as the (Motor Control System Failure) light is on and they say that they must change the Potentiometer
(for the throttlebody) and the actuator
as these are the codes it spits out after replacing the Cam/RPM sensor.
Please can someone help as I dont believe this, I suspect wiring.. can I be right, I did my own ECU and throttlebody reset and still the same (Motor Control System Failure
) but every time I switch off and restart it goes off, but comes back on (BEEP) when driving and looses power, I'm scared to let them change these two items as possibly then it could be something else, my battery is fine, at least I think so - PLEASE SOMEONE SHED SOME LIGHT HERE, EVEN A CHRISTMAS LIGHT ???
I mean my car has had every service done, completely until now.. this problem all started from when, it let me down and cut off the engine on the road (RPM Sensor) which is sorted now, the funny thing is that it showed that fault code ONLY RPM Sensor, now by them replacing that, which is sorted - it shows 2 new faults ??????
PLEASE - If you read word by word, you will see what I am trying to say.
