drove my 2.4 jtd over a big puddle, clutch and turbo problems now!
I've been reading this forum for a while now, and I've found many tips and help for my 2002 156 2.4 jtd (150) which I love and has served me very well and almost without problems.
The other night I drove over a veeeery big puddle, in full throtle, and after exiting it, the engine turned off. I have tried turning it on, but it would end up in a metal bang from the engine.
I couldn't call the mechanic in those hours, (so that he could tell me not to turn it on anymore, as I've found out, the intake is very low and it sucked a little water in cylinders)
so I've countinued firing it until it finaly turned on.
The engine was working awful for a while, not responding to gas, smoked like a factory,
BUT all that faded, and I drove off.
imediatly i've noticed the gear changes don't work, like the clutch pedal is not pressed all the way down, crunches while chaning, I can change gears smoothly while driving but i have to rev the engine to find the sweet spot, it's a real pain. And reverse gear, no chance, have to turn off the engine to do that and then turn it on again. clucht is not sliping, and I pull away fine once I put it in gear
noticed after a few days, swoosh sound when turbo kicks in, and after taking the foot of gas, loosing power on random, sometimes revs stall, most of the times revs fully but not as before,
all in all, not the same car, makes me very sad
I would like to see what can I do myself before taking it to mechanic,
I'm fairly capable and always tinkering with my car and bike so..
any info, help, would be much appricieted, to bring back the grunt in my 156 and smile on my face.
sorry for my english errors
