Can Anyone help? ABS and ASR Failure??
Hi Guys, will try and keep this a brief as possible:
About a week ago I hit a pothole the size of a small country, n/s/f wheel and tyre were knackered. I got the wheel repaired and replaced both front tyres. Money is a little tight so I went with 2 part worns. However, the original tyres coming off were 205/55 R16 and the replacements were 195/45 R16.
While the car was on the spacesaver spare wheel following the pothole incident, the ASR kept cutting it once the car got to about 30 mph so I turned the system off when driving.
At the same time as fitting the two front tyres, I also had the front upper wishbones replaced aswell as rear discs and pads.
Now the ASR system is still doing the same thing, although whenever I have been driving for a while or the car gets over 60mph, the ASR and ABS warning lights come on the dashboard. This happens everytime I am driving the car now.
Also, once the car heats up, there is a really loud (and annoying) squeel coming from the car. It goes away when I press the brake and also when I gently pull on the handbrake so it's definately from the rear wheels. Whenever I stop the car, the passenger side rear wheel is warmer than the drivers side, so I think this is the right area.
Any advice would be appreciated. I thought maybe the different tyre sizes may have something to do with it, bring down the overall rolling circumfrence, would this affect wheel speed sensors? I have no idea.
Hope to hear from all you helpful people.
