I really do see your point Dicky, but.... Here in lies the problem my friend...
When we often try and help with the general issues involving remaps on JTD's the same issues always rear their ugly heads and inevitably, the same conclusion follows..... So therefore the same answer of "You pay your money and take your chance or remove the issue that is causing the problems"
is the only logical answer.
Yet when we suggest removal of the offending article that is causing further ancillary failures we are also met with a tirade of "oh well, there is nothing wrong with this map and that remap or this company etc. etc"
from the owners who refuse to admit it is the actual remaps in 99% of cases that is causing the issues, they tend to blame anything else but!
The forum is littered with the same problems and the same answers and yet so many forum members choose to ignore the advice, the potential warnings and possible fixes.
It gets really tiring and as a result, we (I) get a little sarcastic about it, I can't help it sometimes and for that I really do wholeheartedly apologize.....
However... I also do feel I can be a little over sarcastic from time to time due to the fact that I have tried to help repetitively along with many others despite the answer staring everyone in the face what a root cause is!
The amount of hours I have personally put in to performing repairs on remapped JTD's beggars belief so I honestly believe I have earned that right to "face plant" and sigh every time I see a new thread about remaps
When a member needs help with a suspension query... for example, I don't get sarcastic at all as this is a normal wear and tear article that goes wrong through no intervention from the owner... That's the difference, self inflicted versus normal wear and tear.
I hope that others take my posts with joviality that it is meant with. A lot can be misinterpreted when typed and not spoken
