So as I mentioned in my hello, I have a few little issues with my new 156.
Smallest thing first, I need a new badge for the key, I have a new battery on the way so that is sorted.
Also ordered a new bonnet badge off of Ebay.
The offside rear window doesn't work with either the drivers door switch or the switch on the door itself. Is it likely to be the motor or just the switch? I assume that there is a fuse for all of the electric windows and not individual for each window.
Next, I have a knock just as the car starts. There is no noise when running just one clonk. It doesn't sound like it's in the engine bay. Any ideas?
I also have knocking/clonking whilst driving as I go over bumps. Seems worse on the nearside. I imagine this is likely to be suspension bushes. What price am I looking at to get this sorted?
There is an oil leak on a box that sits behind the sump, or at least that is where it appears to be coming from. I have not had a chance to look properly to see what it is. Any likely culprits?
The clutch is quite high and occasionally slips slightly if I boot it and then engages. How long do I have before it fails miserably?
Lastly, the light on the drivers window switch panel flickers on the 2 rear light switches, is this common. I imagine I'll be spending a bit to get this sorted but it only has 80,000miles and I paid essentially £800.00 for it so cheap enough. I have no service history but I am told the cambelt was done at 62,000 miles. Is there a way to tell if the cambelt is good apart from the obvious cracks and splits?
Sorry about all of the questions, I hope there won't be lots again.
