Alfa JTS rough idle saga
My 2003 156 JTS has been having an erratic idle lately where it randomly surges between 800 to 1400 rpm, also a cold start idle is rough for the first 20 seconds and the acceleration feels lumpy in lower rev range,
mcsf pops up every couple of weeks with fuel trim adjustment errors P1172, P1173, P1175 and P1176.
I have changed maf, checked the intake hose for splits, cleaned the throtle body and done throttle reset procedure and it stil continues; i have ordered a new PCV valve as i have heard that they can cause bad idle if they are blocked, is that true?
In one of the old threads from few years ago somebody with a similar problem just decided to pull apart the big electrical connectors at the back of the engine bay and soldier all the wires together, and apparently this helped alot, has anybody else done this on JTS?
Any other suggestions?
