147 2.0 ts piston rings
I have a 147 2.0 ts that came with the engine in the boot in bit's but no info as to why.
I have bought new big end bearings for it, as they looked like they had been hammered on the top shell (cam belt snapped at some time?) but the cam belt on it is fine.
The only other thing I can find is that number 4 cylinder has had a partial seize that has scored the rings but the piston and bore will be re-usable with a clean up.
Oh! and I nearly forgot to mention the the shells are 0.25 oversize, so it must have had the crank re-ground at some time? and it's only done 76,000 miles!!
Does anybody have some second hand standard piston rings for one piston that I could buy? I dont really want to buy a new full set of rings at £100 for a car that cost £300!
I presume the sequence of events was: 1-cam belt snapped, 2-cam belt replaced but not bearings, 3-low oil pressure due to hammered bearings, 4-low oil pressure leads to seized piston.
