GT heated seats,....

These worth the effort. I had them in my 166 and they were pants really. Esp compared to Audi and my mates Focus ST.....they are amazingly warm.

Gt heated seats get really hot or just warm.. reviews would be great esp anyone whos been in an Audi or BMW - crap seats but the heating on them is very good.

I have not experienced any other heated seats to compare too

But my GT seats do heat up quickly and do get quite hot

Not a GT

Better than those in the 166, definitely.

What do you mean 'worth the effort' though? Are you retrofitting?

My old GT had the winter pack and the heated seats were okay.

They were pretty basic though with no adjustability - they were either on or off.

The adjustable ones on the Golf V5 I had previously were better and much hotter in the full setting.

The GT ones were still okay through and I certainly miss having them on my current Spider.

I assume by 'worth the effort' you mean the effort to find a GT with them? I have quite literally never seen another GT with the winter pack, do they would appear to be exceptionally rare!

Are they worth it? I'd imagine they're expensive to retrofit, and that's if you can find a pair. As mentioned they're either on or off and I can't say mine heat up particularly quickly, mine take a good 5 minutes before I can feel any heat in my backside, at that point I'll turn it off through fear of burning out the switch.

I don't tell passengers it's got heated seats as, from the driver's position, you can't see whether it's been left on....which will burn out the switch.

Having said that one probably get's benefit from them before the heat can be felt, as on a freezing morning leather seats can be bitterly cold, the heated seats do take the edge off before you feel the heat....if that makes sense.

OTOH my missus' Leon has heated seats, a conveniently placed thumbwheel on the dash with settings from 0-5, you can feel the heat from those before you've got to the bottom of our road. Much, much better than those in my GT.

So, in answer to your question you'd have to able to pick the seats up very cheaply to make them 'worth it' IMO.

All the best

Loose - not close, compact, or tight in structure or arrangement
Lose - to part with or come to be without, as through theft, accident, negligence, etc.
