I'm new here and thought I'd put this post here as it's 156 specific.
I've been looking at lots of different cars for our next family / commute hack.
For the mileage we expect to do and the fact I want something which handles well, doesn't need to be monstrously quick, good for a weekend away, shopping, kids, surfing etc...
I live in Cornwall so the roads here are, shall we say, a drivers heaven.
The 03> 1.9 JTD 156 Wagon ticks all the boxes.
I had looked at V40 / TDCI Mondeo / Laguna / Vectra and found them all drab and uninspiring, sporty looking versions still won't take my mind off the fact they're rep cars or just bog standard run abouts.
I looked at BMW 320 touring / Merc C220 and Audi and can't justify spending more than I need to - more long trips and maybe.
So... before I bore you...
I know certain cars have known issues (I've looked at the known faults) and some will show a hard life if not looked after.
I kind of figured Alfa owners would look after there cars but now coming up to 10 years old they might be on 3rd / 4th owner maybe.
So. I wanna get the best I can for my buck and avoid something which needs a lot spending on it in the first 6 months as first and foremost it must be very reliable as a commuter.
What should I look for that is specific to this model (I know to check basic stuff as you would any car)
What goodies were xtras that are nice to have?
and also - I checked for insurance group and I've had different webistes give me different number
Thanks in advance.
