Engine System Failure

I Recently purchased my Alfa Romeo 147 from a dealer. About a week later on my way to football I was travelling at about 80mph and the Engine system failure flashed on and seconds later it disappeared. I thought nothing of it but soon started to realise I was using a lot of oil. A friend of mine later advised me that he car was burning oil (pushing a lot of smoke out of the exhaust. I was putting a litre in every 100 miles, now I'm no mechanic but I'm sure that's not great ! Now this is where things get really bad. It's now 2 months since I purchased the car and about 20 litres of oil later. I was driving home from football and again travelling at 80mph the Engine System Failure light comes on and stays on, I also notice the car has lost a lot of power. Coming to the next traffic lights the car is going below 1000rpm and juddering badly. I finally got it home. The car now is sat on my drive. I keep starting it up and it sounds like a diesel car, still juddering and the engine looks as though it may pop out all together. I reversed it off the drive and back up again and it's now making a strange metal grinding noise.

Any suggestions guys ????

HELP !!!

Take it back to the dealer and get your money back .... car isn't fit for purpose.

Can't believe you didn't take it back as soon as it happened, you did 2000 miles with it burning oil like petrol. You are now probably responsible for the engine failure unfortunately.

Take it back. Sounds utterly stuffed. Dealer is obliged to take it back to rectify the faults. I'd say request return its a pup.

Yes It would be easy enough to take it back to the dealer unfortunately its 100 Miles away and the dealer has since taken one of my calls but hung up on me and wont answer my calls since.
