More likely a wiring issue, I'd have thought....Don't think I've ever sold a variator solenoid...could send you one for the cost of postage but don't know what that would be.....

Sometimes it losses the connection on the top, where the 2 silver bits are. Easy to remake the connection though, iirc, the cap removes easily enough, and I think people have used solder to improve the cap connection.

Easiest check is a multi meter on resistance, there should be 10 ohm between the 2 silver connectors on the top.

Hey Ornez! Did you find that solenoid on the web?
My dealer, here in Japan, has quoted GBP400 plus for that 71736025 part!!
Can you point me somewhere to buy one?
