Managed to get the windscreen-wiper guard panel off, took a bit more gentle force than I expected, popped off, took the opportunity to slather it in silicon spray (magic stuff!) to make it black again.
Once the panel is off, the grommet is pretty obvious, popped that off, drilled a 20mm hole through the foam behind it, poked the wiring through the grommet then fed it into the car, then replaced the grommet.
Undid a screw on the panel inside the passenger footwell, popped that off, pulled the cable through, used more persuasion to get the kick panels off and fed the wire through, tucked it up under the panel behind the seatbelt, under the rear kickpanel, and then under the rear seat hinge.
Did much the same on the other side with the RCA cable, but it turns out the wire I was going to use for the remote/accessory feed is about 1' too short, so I'll have to pop into the shop tomorrow and get a longer run.
The next trick then becomes trying to find a suitable ground site for the earth, the bolts I can find are all a) huge and b) awkward to get at, so might need to get a new bolt ring as well.
The sub is in the boot with the amp screwed onto it, just waiting for me to feed it some power.
Once this job is done, I'll investigate the practicality of replacing the regular speakers with some nice JBL's or similar.
