Help 147 jtd brake light failure and dials cutting out

Hi there,

I've got another electrics problem with my 04plate 147 JTD.

I changed a brake light bulb about 4 months ago. Ever since then, I get 'brake light failure' flash up at seemingly random times. The lights are definitely working, so I just ignored this. But tonight, in very wet weather (not sure if that makes a difference) I started to get other strange occurrences on the dashboard. The 4 dials (speedo, revs, fuel and temp) would suddenly drop to zero, and all the readings would flash blank, plus the ABS and ASR lights flashed on, then the everything would turn normal again after a second or two. The brake light failure light also flashed randomly on the journey. This happened maybe 20-30 times on a 30 min journey. The car drove fine otherwise and the engine was unaffected.

The only problem I have ahd recently was a spring pin snap on the clutch pedal, the breakdown guy fixed it with a large paper clip, and I get a 'water in diesel filter warning' upon startup, but I'm positive this is because I've got a non alfa filter when I had it serviced.

Any help greatly appreciated!!
