Going to have a bit of a rest with the mechanical stuff over Christmas and stick some 16" winter wheels on, I'll be racking some mileage up over Christmas going up to Derby, Penrith, York and various other places. I'll get cracking again in 2013 either when it warms up or when we get our heater fixed
But I've got big plans for 2013, lots of parts either in my shed or ordered, ready to go on in the New Year:
K-Sport 8-pot big brake kit with 330mm rotors and aluminium bells
Water methanol injection kit from Cool-is-Better
Mocal oil catch tank system
Glowshift Boost gauge
New intake routing to connect my CDA up to the turbo
I might also see what I can do about the EGR - currently its not mapped out and there is always an error present on the diagnostics, although its not an error that triggers the engine management light to come on and I don't know how much better or worse the EGR capping makes the car drive, as it was already remapped and EGR capped when I bought it. What I'd really like to do is get some software so I can read the maps off the ECU and make changes - there's no point in me paying for a remap as I think this is always something that I'm going to want to tweak and it is a good way to learn.
I'm also thinking about a nice little ICE upgrade. I've already changed the headunit and added tweeters in the proper locations in the front doors. But not sure what to go for, as much as a big subwoofer in the boot would work, with the battery already in there it wouldn't leave me with a huge amount of storage space.. Has anyone ever replaced the parcel shelf mounted Bose subwoofer with something better? Its a bit crackly and crap sounding, the Sportwagon set up in the corner of the boot is much better.
