Dipstick level

Right went out to play with my motor just now, get to know the engine bay etc

Checked the dipstick and the level was over the max dot..felt wet on the spring..but hard to tell. Did it a couple of times.

The car had been parked up since 6:15 and this was about 8 so plenty time to settle down.

Should I be back around to the garage that did the service on monday asking them to drain a bit off?

I've got a 2.0 TS (2000) by they way.

Re: Dipstick level

im such an evil person, and i would say leave it cos sooner or later your TS will gob them down like water anyway. if its over a bit then dont worry, but by a big margin then i too recommend draining it out.

why not do it yourself? unscrew and screw...

Re: Dipstick level

Yeah, as adam pointed out, if its like slightly above the Max, I wouldnt worry about it. Just drive harder and it'd come dropping down in a jiffy!

Re: Dipstick level

Sometimes the oil is at different levels at the front or back of the dip stick. In that case just split the difference between the 2 levels.
