handbrake cable

hi guys ive been trying to fit a new handbrake cable today but cant clip it on to the calipier as it seems a cm to short any tips would be a great help

Yep. Easier to put it in the caliper first and do other end. Or compress the handbrake with gas pliers, then pull cable over

Start in the centre and follow through. Water pump pliers to squeeze the caliper part and job done. You may need pliers to hold the brackets as they tend to bend when you undo them.
Before any of this I like to remove the boots and give the cable some white grease to prevent the rubber sticking to it and ripping off. So when you push the cable forwards and back there is no tugging on the boots.

You have to lift the gaitor from the handbrake lever and undo the 13mm adjuster as much as possible at first or you will spend 20 mins getting upset cos you dont think life is on your side.................
