My pride and joy since a few weeks is giving a minor (I repeat, MINOR) problem.
The anoying sound in the rear wheels was solved by the new rear tyres donated by the dealer. But only for about 100 km. It's back!!!
I thought it was uneven wear on the rear tyres (also suffered this on previous 147 1.6 and VW Golf).
But since it is back so soon on the GTA i'm thinking of a few things. You're input is requested.
Could it be a wheel bearing? At this moment it's most appearent at 40-60 km/h. Before it was 40-60 and very annoying at 120 km/h. Now mostly on the left hand side (in my opinion).
Could it be a strange camber/caster setting on the GTA suspension? Is this adjustable on the standard suspension?
The tyres are Goodyear Eagle F1-GSD3. Before it was Bridgestone. Could this be the cause?
I'm thinking of taking it to the dealer again and taking him for a spin at 40 km/h. See what he thinks about this sound in a car worth 34000 euro.
And, NO, turning up the soundsystem is no option. First, I can't hear the v6 that way (very BAD!!!) and the also very bad standard bass-sound from the speakers annoys me even more.
Otherwise, i'm a very happy GTA owner.
Enjoying it every day.
OZ Superturismo GT ar ordered for august. Trackday at Zolder also in august. Tuning by Squadra is thought of. And Novitec exhaust with 4 pipes is considered. Who said Alfa's are addictive and expensive?
