Well, I said goodbye to my 156 2.4 20V Ti a few weeks ago.
It had been a good car, and apart from the alternator packing up, it didn't let me down in about 20 months of ownership. All 4 wheels (18" multispokes) cracked at some point though, which wasn't nice.
I loved the engine, the 20V really is a characterful lump for a diesel.
As for the GT, I've only owned it a few days. But, in Alfa Rosso its is probably one of the best looking cars on the road in any price range.
I don't know what the weight difference between the 2.4 20V and the 1.9 16V engines is, but the GT feels lighter on its feet and handles better.
The only downside to the car is the engine. Its harsh, noisy and agricultural. Its completely at odds with the superstar looks of the car. I assume its a GM unit? I couldn't bring myself to own another TS, too slow and awful economy for the power (or lack of) and they don't make the 3.2 in the later GT models (mine is a 2009). So the diesel was my only choice. Its torquey and economical, which is nice.
I'm very happy with the car though, it feels really special and I've never actually seen another cloverleaf on the road, so I like the rarity. I'll get some photos up when I get the chance.
