Help, poorly 156 in Ayrshire!
Hi everyone, on my way to my grans funeral in Irvine today my 156 JTDm 1.9 decided to ruin my day. MCSF came on, stopped at services and restarted engine as im used to the MCSF message in winter, despite EGR etc etc replacement it still haunts me some days when its cold and damp.
Carried on my trip and thought me heater blower was surging up and down, thought temp sensor might be dodgy, however I soon realised it surged when I accelerated, stopped when I took power off. On opening window I could hear external "surging whooshing" sound as I accelerated and white vapour from exhaust. I stopped, coolant still there, oil level good, no gunk under oil cap and engine temp wasn't increasing, was as normal.
Carried on by time I got to Kilwinning car was sluggish on acceleration and vapour was worse.
Please, any ideas whats wrong?
As I normally get my work done at Mototech in Litherland, Liverpool and im stranded in Ayrshire can anyone recommend an Alfa specialist in the west coast as near to Irvine as possible?
First time its ever let me down and on 140000 miles-had loads spent on services and wear and tear items, well cared for car.
Thanks for any help/advice.
