I don't like that coz it's just not true, except in terms of perception or dealer network.
Recent experiences - Brother in Law's golf had to have new engine. Constant failure of rear wash-wipe (kept washing the inside of the c-pillar and flooding the boot). Ongoing brake niggles
Friends beemer delivery was delayed for reasons that BMW wouldn't clarify.
Other acquaintance BMW 5 series recalled and replaced for reasons that BMW would't clarify.
Work colleagues Audi A4 with constant niggles and off-hand dealer service to the point that he has traded in and will never own another Audi.
My Audi A4...........zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. The most boring car ever.
Friends Audi TT - few build quality/electrical niggles. unidentifed beeping from electrics that garage couldn't identify (turned out to be back-up battery for alarm system - identified on Audi TT forum).
friends Merc C-class estate - very poor build quality.
Friends Mini Cooper - new radiator and steering wheel after two years. Problems with ABS.
Audi/VW - mass failure of ignition systems.
I won't argue that the BMW dealer network is second to none. Audi dealer network in my experience is stuck-up and superior. VW is OK, but variable. Alfa - not good, but improving.
