I am beginning to lean that way myself..
I just checked with the guy that did the dyno test/remap yesterday. I aksed if it could be the knocksensor. He didnt think so, since what he does during the remap, is to lock the knock sensor electronically, so it doesn't interfer with the work he is doing.
He also had his doubts about the belt moving theory, as he felt the idle should be much worse...
But the thing is that the idle HAS been a little off lately. But since i got the C&B's in last year, the idle has always been a little rough. So i didnt put much thought in to it untill now..
I have a cambelt change comming up this fall. Mainly due to the tensioners which will be 3 years, and the waterpump.(The cambelt was changed with the Cams oct 2004.) and the guy told me afterwards, that the tensioners looked a bit worn.
I think i will move it forward and get it dont right away.. I guess going to the track this Sunday is a bad idea now..
Probably safer to take it easy huh?
Is there any way i can check if the tensioners are comming loose, without takeing half the car apart? I seem to remeber something about them being held i place by 4 bolts that are prone to comming loose?
Many thanks for all the input, ill be sure to give some feedback after the belt change is done.
BTW would anyone out there happen to have cam locking tools for the C&B cams ? or maybe know where to get them ?? I know the garage that will do the belt change dont have any tools for C&B's...
