So.. got the car back today.. New cambelt, Tensioners, Variator, Waterpump, Oil, the works....The old cambelt had not moved BTW. It still lined up to the cams(which were installed correct) So it looks like the problem lies elsewhere...
But what i do have now,is one hell of a sh*tty idle
Apart from the now poor idle, it seems to run fine in the higher revs, but not quite as good as its supposed to...I can still feel those 11 bhp missing!
The Idle problem is not the fault of the Garage though.. i am guessing that whatever remap the dyno guy did last week, is now gone ? They mentioned something about him probably having deleted some of the original settings....Sounds plausible i guess....so i will check it out.
Or..could the variator have been faulty afterall ?? I noticed when the car was started up this morning,(after several days of standstill) that it had that famous "Diesel sound".. and that tickingsound was quite loud too !! The thing is tho, that the guy who did the remap said that the variator was working fine, so.....
It bothers me that i dont know if in fact the reason for the now poor idle is due to deleted settings, or if it is because the remap idle was set with a faulty variator, meaning that now- with a working variator installed, the idle is all messed up..
Bottom line is, that i guess i have to drive those 350km once again, to get a new remap, atleast to get my idle back..If the car still only puts out those 162 Bhp, then i think i will leave it at that..No sense going further.
New MAF,Lambdaprobe,Thermostat,Radiator, Cambelt/tensioners, waterpump, Variator, Oil change......I think I've done my duty!!
