If you google it theres a few good guides on some other forums, a good one on the rover 75 forum, a good one on mr2 mk1 forum and detailing world too.
General idea is clean as much cack as you can off them.
Fill the dings n donks with either body filler, chemical metal or even superglue with an activator.
Each have benefits and disadvantages, filler may not last forever, chemical metal goes harder than chuck norris with a toothache and superglue with activator does too making it hard to flatten off.
Key up with red scotchbrite then primer, the high build stuff from halfords is fine. It'll show up any other dings too at this point. Fill, flat with a project pack of sanding paper from halfords which has paper all the way from 200 grit up to 1500grit.
Once flat light coats of your chosen colour, wait till its dry then flatten with 400 or 800 grit. Light coats and repeat a few times till youre happy. Then lacquer when its completely dry and flat.
Let it dry.
Tyres off is better but deflated and masking behind the bead is ok too.
Oh and spray the backs first so you dont get overspray on the fronts!!
