Should I... ?

Hiya guys and girls,

I have already installed the SuperSprint centre section (without cat) and a Remus back box on my Bella so far and am very happy.

Recently, I have found a very interesting offer, to upgrade the complete exhaust system (manifold, centre section and back box - no cats anywhere).

I have a question though: if I upgrade to this custom-made complete exhaust system, will the car loose or gain power?

I know that logically, it should gain some, but I also know that if there isn't enough "back pressure", the car actually looses power/performances.

I will also be getting an ECU reprogramming done which will increase both power and torque by about 10%.

Any help/advice welcome.

Many thanks to all,

Re: Should I... ?

If the system is designed for the car then it will have been designed to take into account the fact that the CAT will not be there and should have been designed so that this loss of back pressure is recouped at another point.

Also remember to keep your CAT so it can be re-fitted prior to an MOT (if the car needs one).

Re: Should I... ?

Supersprint has some power graphs on their web page.

According to them, you should get +6PS with the OEM cat and 2-1 pipes kit or
+8PS with sport cat and full manifold. Torque is improved +3 or +4Nm.
