Fitting Powerflex trailing arm bushes.

What is the best way to fit the metal shell, hope it doesn't mean removing the upright/hub assembly.
I'm assuming that the lip on the Powerflex shell is designed to help fitting from the chamfered outer edge of the bush housing.
Why have they used this method, usually the bushes just push in from both sides, push in the stainless tube and bob's your uncle, done.
There's also a white nylon washer with the kit. Where does this go?

Any info greatly appreciated. No guidelines included with the kit.
