Battery light on after blanking EGR valve
After passing MOT I decided to blank my EGR valve with two blanking plates (ones with holes), one on the manifold (rectangular) side and the other on the exhaust side (diamond shaped). Had MCSF for a while but this disappeared after 2nd drive, there was also P1 error message stating the EGR was blocked. I've since removed the blanking plates and cleared the error, but the battery light has remained on when the engine is running. Battery voltage is reading 11.5V on idle, was previously 13.9V before EGR "adventure".
Couple of queries:
Is the battery light on because of the low voltage or because the car is relying solely on the battery?
Could blanking the EGR have affected the alternator?
