Cry Like A Baby Bodywork Repairs

Can anyone recommend a good bodyshop in the Teessside/Durham/North Yorkshire area as I need one.

Just under a week ago I discovered that some chav scrote had decided to use my car as some form of step. The result, well I have had the car 3 weeks and now I have a dent and a crease in my bonnet along with a cracked windscreen.

I went to Reg "Rip-Off" Vardys and have been quoted £850 + VAT!! They are informing me that I need a new bonnet (plus re-spray) and then the 2 wings also need a "blending in" - they say it is pricey due to the parts, metallic black paint and also the labour.

I will have to go through my insurance for this one even though my excess is £300.

Re: Bodywork Repairs

First of all 'DON'T GO TO VARDY'S' for anything, ever!

There's a very good body shop near me in Shildon, near Newton Aycliffe, called Alan Reed's. They have a very good reputation but arenít cheap.

There's a small Alfa/Fiat specialist near me too called BMC. The head mechanic used to have the same job at Vardy's in Darlington. You could get him to assess the damage independently and he may recommend a body shop to you.

Best of Luck whatever you choose to do and I hope you catch the little get that damaged your car and damage him.

Re: Bodywork Repairs

Thanks again Roswell - you really are the Oracle aren't you I'll try both Alan Reeds and BMC and see what they can do to help.
As for the chav scrote . . . I have a friend seeing if he can make anything out of the CCTV footage where it happened, seeing as how the police weren't exactly helpful . . . .
