Alfa GT power steering leak

Hi Alfatisti, I thought this might help someone with a mysterious power steering leak on there GT.
Mine was making a loud whining sound and dripping fluid from in front of the O/S front wheel. On further investigation, after removing the under tray and front bumper I found the fluid cooler pipe was worn away by the air scoop for the oil cooler as shownImageUploadedByTapatalk1349523147.456226.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1349523224.185757.jpg
It was only a tiny pinhole but I lost fluid FAST.
So I tried a very Heath-Robinson fix with jubilee clips and rubber hose that I cut along its length, clipped round the offending pipe, then clamped in place!!ImageUploadedByTapatalk1349523430.588482.jpg
Sounds mad, but it worked, 2 weeks on with no fluid loss and power steering sorted. Once reassembled you would never know.
I hope this can help someone and save them the hours it took me to find.
Have a good'un and keep it shiny side up.
Russ B.

If you smile at someone long enough it can really unnerve them.
