Oil in the inlet manifold of my 147 2.0ts

Hi all, following my continues battle the my 147, to nite I started to remove the power steering pump, the reason for this I hope is to make the steering feel like its actually attached to the car! I'm thinking that the pressure release valve is not working rite? Any way iv got the inlet manifold off an to one side so hopefully the pump will come out, but iv noticed clean oil sitting in the manifold ??? Is the normal?? Any help would be grate !
