Warning light help
Right coming up to 3 years of ownership i've been hit by my first electrical gremlin.
I'll start from the begining :-) My car has a habbit of eating side lights, i got the usual bulb warning light a couple of weeks ago. Rather then pay halfords prices for one bullb i got 2 led ones for the same price, however the warning light satyed and it transpired i needed some resistors.
I never got around to fitting and as payday came i went to halfords and got a new bulb. The other one sidelight was only a few weeks old so i only got one.
I replaced the led ones and this is where the problem starts. The bulb warning light stays on with the lights off but goes out when the lights are turned on.
I have searched the forum and on the suggestions of other people i checked and replaced the following as i had spares
Number plate lights
Rear brake lights
At the same time i chaecked that all the connections are as they should be and there is no extra wires on the rear lights.
The only thing i haven't replaced or checked yet is the rev counter.
Sorry for waffling but this has been bugging me for the whole weekend. Any one have any other ideas.
