couple of leaks-need some help
Today I had my balancing sorted out by the clowns who fit my tyres, all seems to be well now.
I asked the bloke to ramp up my car so I could take a look at the undercarriage, and there seems to be some oil around the sump plug, which I guess is pretty normal. But, there is a shelf type thing just behind the sump plug, it's a greyish type colour and I think it has something to do with the sump, anyway there was a fair bit of oil smothered acorss there too. The material did look to be porous, it did not look metallic, what is the sump made out of?? and should I be worried about the oil around the sump and that shelf? I have not noticed any drops of oil on my drive and my car uses oil at the standard 1L/1000 miles.
Also, there is a spirally black tube thingy at the front left of the 147, and while jacked up the tyre bloke noticed leaking fluid from the connections to the sprially tube. Anyone with a 147 will see the tube on the left, looks like a spring, what the hell is it.
These leaks have got me a bit para!
