Since the 72K service includes a cambelt change I hope you did them at the same time! £850 is a high but sort of ok dealer price for the cambelt change service providing you got a few other bits changed too (a few pully wheels etc that are best changed at the same time). Where did the other £350 cambelt change come from?
Bad luck with the water pump change, its best to bite the bullet and do that at the same time as the cambelt.
I tto have aticking noise but no-one can diagnose it and as the car runs just fine, I live with it with no ill effect. I can`t hear it in the cabin anyway
If you find out, please let me know!
Low speed squeal? get some copperslip on the back of the pads.
Low speed over bumps noise? the most comon fault is lower wishbone arms worn out or knackered drop-links. Neither will break the bank.
A leaking rubber oil pipe? It can`t be under pressure or you would be in trouble so it sounds like the crank-case breather otherwise know as a crank gas reclaimation pipe. It takes nasty oil-fumes and reburns them. I can`t be sure (can you take some pictures?) but if its that pipe with a fault then it will affect your performance by allowing weak running so get a new one.
The squeal sounds like slightly sticking breaks on a slightly out of true disk. Clean up the entire caliper when yopu do the copperslip and you may get rid of it. Worst scenario is new disks. Actually, worst scenario is that the whell bearing is going but lets stick with the brakes for now. Jack up the car at the front and rotate the wheel by hand and see if its binding.
