GT Creaky dash....
Just thought id let you know in case your suffering too...
Finally bit the bullet and tried to solve the creak and crack noise (over bumps) that comes from the dash...
After reading other threads and finding out the main screen vent (easy, but wear gloves) can be replaced I had a go at it the weekend.
After removing the main screen vent i found the 4 bolts holding the dash to the bulkhead, got a flexi extension and removed one of the bolts... Important, you need to pack out the channel in the dash and cover the centre hole in the channel unless you want to be fishing for screws and washers!
The rubber washer was over compressed and deformed, i also removed another and found the same issue, not having replacements ive just rotated then and covered in silicon spray for now but seems to have helped a lot. The bolt has a shoulder which restricts its travel but obviously as the rubber gives and deforms and after 50k miles of bumps its slackened off it all gets creaky and squeeky....
Will be acquiring some new washers over winter as its garaged next week for 6 months and replace them all, hopefully ridding the car of creaks and cracks!
Will take photos when i replace them
