Alfa drivable again!

Hello Ken (how refreshing to find someone using their actual name! Unless that's just what you want us to think...!)
I wondered along similar lines initially, but ( and I have to come clean here) when I tried to fit the lead slug into the top of one of my new mounts this evening... The bugger won't fit: to get it in I would need to slice it in two (horizontally), and file some relief points at 12, 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 o' clock; it would appear Alfa have done a wonderful thing - they made the new mounts stronger AND lighter, with a bracing peice which, happily, makes the lead slugs redundant. I wonder if this was done for the 159? Whatever the reason, there is an instant weight saving to be had if your jtd is still running with the original engine mounts!
Thanks for the post, and er, don't suppose you happen to be working on Peter Jackson's new Dambusters Film by any chance? Now there's a project right up my alley!!
