Window now going all the way back up.

hi guys.
i have a gt jtd. u know when the door opens and the window goes down a little bit then goes back up when u close it. mine never goes the same distance back up that it does down. so over time the gap keeps getting bigger and bigger.
any ideas why this is and how to fix it?
thanks

Tried a window reset?

Hold window buttons down for 10secs, then up for 10secs

This just worked for me too! My window was going down ok, but only up about 7cm with each press. So much relief!

When i try the window reset on mine the drivers window goes up and as soon as it touches the seal, goes down again. I have to get it up little by little in order to stay shut.
Any recommendations? New control cluster time?

Sounds like the anti trap sensors are thinking there's something in the way of the window. Worth checking the seal is clear of any debris or dirt first.

I can't advise on your car, but had this on a Nissan X-trail (not mine) and removing the seal, it turned out to be a window regulator fault, and replacing it did the trick.

It can't hurt you to disconnect the battery for an hour and then see if that sorts it though?

My drivers window also doesn't appear to close fully - it reaches the seal but water seeps through when it rains!

Every so often the window has a fit and doesn't close fully leaving a 10cm gap but this is resolved by using the reset trick.

May replace the window regulator.

I,ve got a slightly different problem. Both my windows don't drop very much if at all. they will go up if I push them down a little before closing the door. Tried the reset no change.
Any ideas?

Maybe, but it does that only when trying the window reset. Once i close it little by little it will close automatically every time with no problem until it needs a reset again.

Worked for me too. I'm learning about these Italian cars and their 'soul'!
