If you're claiming you and your wife suffered whiplash straight after the crash then you're talking nonsense! You wouldn't feel it until 2-3 after the crash. How fast was the car travelling? Considering you were on a roundabout. He would have had to have been travelling at some speed to cause whiplash from a side impact. I feel sorry for you as you've lost your car. However, if you're making a dodgy claim I urge you not to. And the answer, "well everyone else does it" doesn't wash. That doesn't make it alright.
My insurance has nearly doubled in the last three years because of a-holes making dodgy claims. And 'no win no fee' solicitors leaching off people with no more pain than your average graze on your knee, it's pathetic!
I whole-heartedly agree if some one has been seriously injured through blatant negligence then they should be compensated, for their loss of earning and medical costs they may incur for physio etc.
I'm not pointing the finger directly at you. But think twice if you're swinging the lead slightly, as we ALL suffer in the long term.
