I had to change tyres on my GT JTD this spring,my Bridgestone Potenza RE050 were worn out.
I was very pleased with these tyres, but they are a bit expensive thou. So I looked for a cheeper alt. I ended up with Yokohama C- drive 2.
I have driven app. 3500 km (2200 miles)with these Yokohamas this summer under various conditions in North of Norway.
Here is my review of the the tyres:
I was looking forward to get a new set of tyres on my GT, but the Yokohamas was a huge disappointment compared with the worn out Bridgestones.
The Bridgstones has a better grip on both dry or wet asphalt, on the wet the Yokos are far more prone to aquaplaning, feels more insecure.
On dry asphalt Bridgestone has much better grip, feel and handling. Also much less countersteering on rough roads.
The most thing I miss on the Yokos are the sharp grip, instant response in turning in to corners that you get on the Bridgestone tyres. The Yokohamas feels very slow in steering response. Like US cars you know, you turn the steeringwheel ,first they lean over, then they perhaps come trough the corner, if you are lucky.
My conclusion: Go for Bridgestone, they are more expensive but its worth every Penny!!
Yokohama C- drive are most likely not a bad tyre, they just do not fit Alfa GT.
